Every line of every SDI signal ever shipped has this shape: a timing word at each end, a line number and checksum, a cargo hold, and picture. No handshake, no packets to negotiate: the receiver locks to the EAV/SAV rhythm and everything else follows.
Each rung doubles the symbol rate on the same 75 Ω BNC. Before 12G, UHD traveled as quad-link 3G: four cables, square-division or two-sample interleave. The Bandwidth Bucket module prices every one of these pipes against the signals you pour into them.
